The mission of Clay Banner Masonry is to provide bespoke home improvements and repairs using a variety of masonry products including brick, stone, stucco, and cements.

My name is Levi Barros, and I am the owner and sole operator of my little home service business. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. From a large homeschool family, I was brought up by my loving parents who were also very crafty landlords of several rental houses. I was very into building and repairing homes from a young age, thanks to my parents. As a little boy, I helped my dad build things like decks, add-ons, and fences. My parents are the kind of people who prefer to do everything themselves and are quite literally ‘jacks of all trades’. They showed me how to maintain a home and passed on many of the ‘old Indian tricks’ of construction.

On my own time, I would build tree houses and furniture, or else I would study architecture. By the time I was a teenager, I became obsessed with bricks; even digging up clay in the backyard and firing my own bricks in a homemade kiln. At 16 years old, I built a small brick playhouse with a vaulted ceiling entirely out of homemade bricks. I also noticed that most American builders are not all that familiar with bricks, or plastering, or the fine art of masonry as a whole. Those builders I’ve met who are familiar with masonry often didn’t want anything to do with it, viewing it as repetitive and grueling work.
By the age of 21, several family friends reached out to me on Facebook after seeing some of the pizza ovens I had built and hired me for several masonry jobs. From there, working for myself became an infrequent side hustle. In 2022, I got married, moved down to Salem, and started my official handyman masonry business, coming to depend on it as a full-time job.
Dedicated to high quality, traditional craftsmanship, and good communication, I am your go-to guy for residential masonry projects in the Salem, Oregon area.
